ViaComp is especially convenient because I don’t have to do any extra effort to create the viability compensation control. I used to stain heat-killed cells. It was always an extra little process to do and there had to be some available cells. Now I can stain comp controls all together. I have tested ViaComp with Zombie Aqua and Sytox Green so far and the brightness has been similar to cells.

We have successfully tested some of the new synthetic cell controls from Slingshot Bio in our flow core facility. I especially like the fact that ViaComp 2 in 1 beads have the ability to stain both DNA and amine-binding dyes. They are, to my knowledge, the only beads to bind DNA dyes and the ability to use them for both is great. We are looking forward to continuing the cooperation and test new products – e.g., SpectraComp, pre-stained SpectraComp for single staining control and Trucytes.
